Spencer Hunn – Impressed Me With His Silly Dance
From the Office of Bronwen OehlschlagerOnline Network Marketing Coach I remember the first time I ever saw Spencer Hunn. I walked into a regional meeting with my friend in West Valley City, Utah and sat down near the middle of the crowded room. There must have been about 1000 people in the room. It was bursting at the seams. Everyone was so excited. They just knew that this meeting would change their lives forever. It changed mine. Spencer Hunn was a major part of it, not because he has special powers as a speaker – although he does have amazing charisma. And not because he was wise beyond his years – although he had some special skills that I’m sure even he doesn’t know are not something that everyone comes by naturally, simply because he has those talents and he’s always looking out of his own eyes. I was totally changed by Spencer because he danced when he came onto the stage. That takes guts! I laughed and cried at the same time because here was a leader that I knew I could follow. He’s younger than me. In fact, when I first saw him he was only 22 years old. That was back in 2005. I just knew that if he could get up there and dance like that in front of 1000 people just because he was so excited about his promotion to Regional Vice President then I would be able to do something like that too. I made my goal to sing when I become an RVP. I just wanted to be excited and silly and make people laugh and cry with excitement the same way he had inspired me that day he danced.I never saw him dance again. I went to every meeting he did for 3 years just hoping I could see him do it again, but he never did. However, he never disappointed me. His excitement for what he does in ACN is beyond any excitement I’ve seen from anyone else in my 14 years of network marketing. My favorite experience with Spencer Hunn is the first time I shook his hand. He was nervous. A real human being. He could barely look me in the eye – I’m sure because I was clearly star struck and he couldn’t imagine how someone could think of a regular guy like him that way. Then a couple of years later, right before he was promoted to Senior Vice President, I met him again. I wanted him to remember my name because one day, some how, I was going to do him proud. We were at a meeting in the middle of the winter. Cars were stuck in the snow outside of a teeny tiny little house in Sandy, Utah and the house was packed because he was going to be the presenter. I remember feeling pretty important because I was asked to be there as a leader – a favor to a crossline of mine and I was responsible for bringing enough paperwork for everyone. After the meeting I stood and talked to a very giddy, super silly, regular guy, Spencer Hunn and I was impressed again. He was cool. The popular kid. And he oozed with social talent that doesn’t come to just everyone easily. I remember feeling important that he asked me my name, talked to me for a few minutes, and then repeated my name 3 times in an effort to try to remember me. That was cool.Spencer Hunn is an amazing leader. If he comes across this article I want to thank him for the impact that he’s had on my life. “If It’s To Be, It’s Up To Me.” Thanks Spencer.
