I know what you mean about practicing what you preach. I do the same thing.
Ideas come to me at night and I want to get them all out of me and into reality the very next day.
Paper is what saves me. I write it all down in detail, savor the idea, improve it, then start making it a reality.

Your 1/2 cup analogy reminds me of the last time I went to my favorite "All You Can Eat" Chinese buffet. It all looked so delicious, and I just knew that I HAD to have some of everything. Of course, I was so determined to consume some of everything, that I never did get to enjoy ANY of it.
This is the way most people attack their business. They try to be all things to all people, and end up being not much to anybody.
It's a paradox, but many times if we try to do less (but do it well), we end up accomplishing more.
