| How to earn money in 2 hours per day, 5 days per week. Now that we've talked about how I set out to earn money in 2 hours on my busiest days of the week, let's talk about the days when I'm not running all day long and how I keep myself from getting so caught up in business that I fail with family and home. Remember how we talked about pencil organizing? We're not really going to talk about that again, I just had to reiterate the importance of NOT doing too much of it.
Go back to how to Earn Money in 2 Hours Part 1
for a refresher on what pencil organizing looks like, and what money making activities look like. Let's move on now and talk about not getting sucked in.There are two ends of the spectrum for moms in home business of any kind - both are going to make you feel completely unbalanced and if you don't meet in the middle you'll probably drive yourself insane! *wink* Excuses. One end of the spectrum is "I just didn't have time to get it done today". The person who makes this excuse once usually makes it 5-10 times in a row and suddenly they don't remember anything about running a business online. Not only do they feel desperate, but they generally have to start over. Sadly these people are too embarrassed to go back to their original coach and tell them that they need help learning the same things again so they pay a lot of money to learn the same things from someone else only to repeat their mistake. Losing Track of Time. The other end of the spectrum is: "I lost track of time and got a lot done on my business but nothing done for my family". This is my vice. I admit it. It love my business and I have a really hard time putting it away. So I'm an expert at reigning it in and keeping to a flexible schedule. When I don't I feel like a failure, my children are unhappy, my husband is unhappy, and I'm just out of balance altogether. Let's address the excuse maker first. If you're an excuse maker then your job is to learn how to say "No" to other things during work time. You probably don't have a work schedule set, let alone know what you're going to be doing during your work time, so that's the first thing you need to do. - SET A SCHEDULE to earn money in 2 hours per day.
Let's just face it! If you don't have a goal and a plan to reach it your success is just floating out there somewhere in outer-space. You may be spending a lot of time doing a lot of busy pencil organizing that's not getting you anywhere. Excuse makers generally feel overwhelmed, and although they feel really busy at business...they never really do anything at all. It only feels like it to them because they've been thinking about it, and talking about it so much. So Set a Schedule and then don't be more than mildly flexible with it. That'll help a lot. Now let's address the ones who get sucked in.You're the ones who need to not only set a schedule, but set the timer! You are not only going to set out to earn money in 2 hours per day...but you're going to make a solid choice to spend NO MORE than 2 hours per day. Savvy? *wink* Until I started setting the timer I was working all the time, with some interruptions from my family and then I would rush to tidy up the massive mess my kids had made all day after my husband called to let me know he was on his way home. (Thank goodness for his 45 minute commute!) That's not balance. You need to set the timer. Your kids need you. And a child - even ones as young as mine - can wrap their head around the fact that it's mommy's work time until the timer goes off and you'll play with them afterward. They can count on you if you maintain the schedule. They'll trust you. Everyone will get the attention they need from you whether it be business, or family. Getting your house clean every day will make you feel better about yourself and your personal stewardship. You're children will be happier - as will your other half...and yourself! I don't believe that the family and home should ever be sacrificed for success in business.I'm just that kind of gal. And I hope you are too. *wink* Remember that success doesn't come overnight when you're applying this "earn money in 2 hours per day" schedule. Be patient and tenacious. It's a worthwhile process - line upon line - as you learn and then do the things that make your business flourish. Contact me if you need help.
