Article Marketing – Don’t Be a Fraud.

Over the past few days I’ve had an experience that I think I can apply to your article marketing training. It has to do with internet fraud – I got caught up in a scam masquerading as google adwords campaign manager service.

They had it all, testimonials, promises, I was in. I like to outsource and I didn’t really want to go straight to Google for it because I just knew I could find a better deal.

Well, I found it, paid for my set up and trial period, was promised a phone call to get things set up and… wonder of wonders, that phone call never came. Nor did a confirmation email, or ANY form of contact whatsoever (ask me if I’m angry!).

So, after being charged the agreed upon rate for said outsourcing I searched for a way to contact this fraudulent company in order to cancel my account with them and found that I had gotten snagged in a snare that a lot of other people had been caught in as well.

This company gets you to give them a low start up fee with the promise of a phone call to discuss your needs and then never makes contact. They provide the credit card company with a fake phone number and they know how to work the system.

How does this apply to Article Marketing?

Anyway, back to your article marketing. Make sure you make promises that you intend to keep. Don’t become the bad guy. Your reputation online is so important to your success! You can’t say you’ll call and then never call! You can’t say you’ll stick with someone until they master a skill that you’re teaching and then not do it!

I’d also like to recommend that you take care how you recommend tools. Make sure they are tools that are necessary at first. I can’t tell you how many times (when I first got started online) that I would find a coach who said “If you buy all of these hundreds of dollars worth of tools you’ll be successful.” Only to find that I didn’t need more than $80 worth of tools to start with and…honestly, that’s still all you need unless you’re outsourcing to get things done.

Please, please take care of your reputation. Find a coach who is willing to go over your promises with you. Make sure you’re doing the best you can by your potential leads. And make sure you’re giving them the highest quality they can find… even if you are new at it. This is business. Put on your “suit” and go out there and develop some clientele and make sure they can trust you forever.

If you’re article marketing as a method of low cost lead generation then I’m sure you’ve read a lot of articles. You can see how people draw from their own experience and since you’ve read and experienced, well… now you have something to write about.

Glean from other articles. Notice what kind of promises they’re making and think it out – can you make those same promises?

Well, you can make the same promises I make to my audience. You can turn around and let your crowd know that you are there for them. Worried about the size of the crowd? If and when the crowd gets too big for you to handle on your own… just cross that bridge when you get there, it’s not going to be right away.

Even with 25+ leads coming in ever day you’ll see that not everyone is eager to be your loyal follower. Some people are tire kickers. The point of this article is to prepare you to be the kind of person who will follow through and keep it simple.
